Breakfast Ideas for a 15-Month-Old Without Eggs

Breakfast with a toddler can feel like a daily puzzle.
You want something filling, nutritious, easy to prepare and ideally something they'll actually eat. Add an egg allergy into the mix and suddenly some of the easiest toddler breakfast ideas are off the table.
If you're in the same boat you're definitely not alone.
At 15 months, toddlers can have a surprisingly wide variety of breakfast foods and there are plenty of AMAZING options that don't involve eggs. Here are some of my favorite ideas for putting together simple, toddler-friendly breakfasts without eggs.
🥣 1. Oatmeal + Fruit
Oatmeal is one of my favorite toddler breakfasts because it's so easy to customize.
Start with plain oats cooked with milk or water, then add soft fruit such as:
Mashed banana
Applesauce or steamed apple
Mango
Strawberries
Blueberries, mashed
Peaches
Pears
You can also add a little cinnamon for extra flavor.
For a more filling breakfast, try mixing in a small amount of nut or seed butter if your toddler has already been safely introduced to it.
Easy combination:Oatmeal + mashed banana + cinnamon + a little peanut butter
🍌 2. Banana Pancakes: Without the Egg
Traditional banana pancakes usually rely on eggs but you can make toddler-friendly pancakes without them. Try combining mashed banana with oats, milk, flour, and a little baking powder to create a pancake batter. Serve them plain or with a little fruit on the side.
One of my favorite things about pancakes is that you can make a batch ahead of time and keep extras in the refrigerator or freezer for an easy breakfast on a busy morning.

🥛 3. Yogurt + Fruit + Oats
Plain, full-fat yogurt makes a great base for a quick breakfast.
Add:
Soft fruit
Oatmeal or finely ground oats
Chia seeds
Ground flaxseed
A little nut or seed butter
You can mix everything together into a breakfast bowl or keep the ingredients separate if your toddler prefers to pick things up individually.
Easy combination:Plain yogurt + banana + oats + chia seeds

🍞 4. Toast With Avocado
Spread mashed avocado over a piece of soft toast and cut it into toddler-friendly strips or pieces.
You can also add a thin layer of cream cheese or another spread your toddler loves. Mine is OBSESSED with avocado which is awesome because he used to not like them and it's a healthy fat since we are trying to help him gain a little bit of weight.
🍓 5. Yogurt & Fruit Bowl
Sometimes the simplest breakfast is the easiest win. Combine plain yogurt with a few different soft fruits for a colorful breakfast bowl. Try combinations like:
Banana + strawberry
Mango + peach
Blueberry + banana
Pear + strawberry
You can add oats or ground flaxseed if you'd like to make it a little more substantial.
🧇 6. Egg-Free Waffles
Waffles can definitely be part of an egg-free toddler breakfast. Look for an egg-free recipe or make your own using ingredients such as flour, milk, baking powder, and mashed banana or applesauce.
Cut the waffle into small pieces and serve it with fruit or yogurt. You can also make a batch ahead of time and freeze individual portions.
Future-you will thank you.

🍎 7. Overnight Oats
Overnight oats are one of my favorite breakfasts for busy mornings because most of the work happens the night before.
Combine oats with milk and let them soften overnight in the refrigerator.
In the morning, mix in soft fruit and other toddler-friendly ingredients.
Some combinations to try:
Banana + chia seeds
Apple + cinnamon
Mango + yogurt
Strawberry + banana
Pear + ground flaxseed
If your toddler prefers a smoother texture, you can adjust the consistency with additional milk.
🥔 8. Breakfast Potatoes + Fruit
Who says breakfast has to be sweet?
Soft potatoes can make a surprisingly filling toddler breakfast. Dice them into small pieces and cook until they're very soft.
Pair them with:
Avocado
Soft fruit
Plain yogurt
Shredded cheese
Soft-cooked vegetables
You can also add a protein your toddler already eats and tolerates.

🧀 9. Toast + Cheese + Fruit
For a super simple breakfast, try soft toast with a little cheese alongside fruit. Mozzarella or another mild, toddler-friendly cheese can work well. Add banana, berries, melon, or another soft fruit for a simple combination of carbohydrates, dairy, and fruit.
A Simple Formula for Toddler Breakfasts
When I run out of ideas, I like to think of breakfast in terms of a few simple components:
Carbs + protein+ fruit or vegetable
For example:
Oatmeal + yogurt + banana
Toast + avocado + strawberries
Waffle + nut/seed butter + blueberries
Potatoes + cheese + melon
Yogurt + oats + mango
Simple, filling, and enough variety that breakfast doesn't become the same bowl of oatmeal every single morning. ✨
And if your toddler decides they suddenly hate the food they've happily eaten for the past three weeks?
Welcome to toddlerhood.
